Guys im looking at putting a shinko 777 170 on the rear of my iron to get rid off that stock hard piece of s@#T that is on now but ill like to see some pics please, if you have a 170 lets see it....
Will that tire fit on a stock 2003 Sportster with stock fender and shocks? It looks badass.
I know 2004 and up sportster are pretty much the same on the frame. I don't know about a 03. But I don't see you having a problem. I used all stock parts, except for I have shorter shocks on my 2006.
Yeah I'm getting ready to do the same thing and drop a SHinko 170 on the rear now that I have 5k on this turd they call a tire. A couple people on here swear it's critical to do this before investing in any rear shock upgrades, plus it looks killer.
Mind me asking what handlebars you running on the bike? Did you raise or lower the front or back of bike also? Looks good
I am running KromeWerks 2" rise drag bars & I flipped them.
The front is dropped 3/4 in the triple clamps & I have SM adjustable fork caps which I think raised it back up 1/2"
The rear is a set 11" Paucho rigid struts & I have a lowering kit to kick the angle of the struts a little more. It's about the equvelent of having a 10" strut. I lowered the fender on the frame struts to make it look lower & have the fender hug the tire.

The Shinko 777 rides/handles much better than the Dunlops. I have about 4k on them now.
