Sportster 1200c aftermarket vs HD stage 1, is there a difference

gotta call "BULLS4!7" on this post. you'll see a ton of folks giving you the same line and probably get some random PMs with offers... don't do it.
that hammer and nhrs rubbish is not worth the effort and nonsense involved. have the dealer do. you can blame the dealer for issues and have it remain in warranty. not have some oddball parts and noone around when s4!7 goes pear shaped. no ordering replacement parts and waiting... hd dealers are like McDonald's when you are out on the road, so you are always covered in terms of parts.
the air filter included with the hd stage 1 1200 kit is fine to start with. after that you can upgrade to whatever you wanna throw on you bike.
i replaced my kit filter with an arlen ness big sucker, they come with k&N filter elements that are reuseable once cleaned.
people have all sorts of advice here so i'll leave you to your own devices.
heres what happen when i asked the same question before my conversion, i have zero regrets. there's a ton of solid advice in here:

Agreed, for the non technically inclined sheeple, the HD SE stuff, like the plastic SE A/C, is fine.
But referring to the high quality parts, many of them billet, made by HRHS and Hammer as "rubbish", only proves to those that know better, what a technical dumb-*** you are.

2. "HRHS and Hammer as "rubbish""... i was referring to the leg work not the parts.

Dealer is doing it. He is installing the v\e big radius, some programmable ECM, a better air filter (all listed on the redacted receipt attached) now I'm concerned about the narrow 21 spoke wheel on the front. The service dept couldn't not find so much as a lean on the inspection done as part of the 10k service.
I've never ridden a bike wth power like this on such a narrow front spokes wheel. What is the largest width wheel and ride I can place on the front without changing the fork? I've ordered the chrome guard for the lowed front fork it's a stock 2007 custom 1200,
Install is Wednesday. I am sure I've been ripped because I bought the ECM, paid for the dyna - (frankenbike resonated with me I gotta admit) the rationale for keeping it at HD was just too logical to refute. From a performance standpoint what else should I do - I'm not at all infresfed in going past 100 unless forced to pass quickly on one-lane each way highways . I want a quick 30-80, a quicker 60-90 and the bigger tire I can fit on that giant narrow front wheel
I would consider different wheels and tires as long as I'm not messing with the 2007 fork - suspension is also stock and is harsh (I'm 5'8" 210)

The super tuner is nice to have regardless, even though its mated to your ECM, if you ever change out parts or go deeper into that motor it will come in handy, although for that price I prefer the PowerVision.
SE isn't all that bad for those that have the money to throw at it, personally, I'd rather have a DK custom air cleaner, with just about any brand of exhaust that isn't stock over SE. But when you are talking big bore kits, and racing applications it can sometimes be better to let HD do the work and pay the extra $, the warranty guarantees you're covered and saves you the hassle.
Unless you're like me and would rather wrench it yourself....and your bikes out of warranty....and you wanna go fast....

As far as the front wheel/tire. I'd assume that you'd be fine since the 1200c came with spokes prior to the ballon tire movement. The dyna-wide glide is a comes with spokes and is much more beastly. I'm sure one of the senior folks will chime in and reprimand me or concur shortly.
I prefer mags because they dont need maintenance (outside of polish). Spokes need occasional adjustments... But, ive also never ridden a spoked bike.

I like the V&H VO2 Naked from e-Bay and replace the filter elements with one of the Exotx. With the Exotx filter you never need a rain sock and will never have to replace it.

then get any flat plate cover (or make one) that trips your trigger for the end cover of the filter.
