Default gas mileage

Hi everyone. I was wondering what kind of gas mileage you all get with your 1200 sportsters. I have a 2013 anniversary 1200 custom with around 5000 miles on it. I am getting around 35-36 mpg. Most of my riding is in town, city riding, so I know my mileage wont be as good as highway riding. But is 35 mpg low? Thank you for your input.

Ride safe and have fun!

Happy 4th.God Bless America

That is about what I am getting with my brand new 1200T Superlow Sportster. I got 43.5 MPG on the last fill-up but most of that was freeway and PCH driving.

My 883 gets about 35 mpg in urban stop-and-go traffic. Stage 1 with X14ied.

Usually get about 38-40 mpg around town on my 14' 48, stock. But I do gun it from time to time for fun.

Anywhere from 42-49 mpg....depending on how I ride. I'm fairly aggressive at times, but even then I'm in the 40s.

Stage 1 (Air Cleaner/SE SP mufflers).

I've been getting around 37-42 mpg, still breaking in! Around 900 miles on the bike now. Mostly rides around town and on the 2 lane backroads. Acutally haven't been on the slab with it yet!

I'm glad you asked this - I was going to ask it myself. I have been wondering if I have my ViED's set for too rich a mixture as my mileage seemed low. I already dialed them down a bit for this tank to see how it goes.

The 05 1200 Custom I used to own averaged 43 to 48 mpg all around driving. That's with CV Performance carb upgrades and performance exhaust. The 02 883 I now own gets 53 to 57 mpg all around driving with same upgrades. I like the 883 much better and don't plan to ever punch it out to 1200cc like some do.

Your mileage will increase 10% if you stop revving at red lights.
