Default Rejetting

I have a 2001 1200 custom. The bike had a aftermarket air cleaner when I purchased it. I just added drag pipes to it and am not fimiliar with how to rejet it. I have a good understanding of carburetors so it's not the actual changing of the jets I need help with as much as tuning and picking the right jets for the bike.

There is a good sticky over on xlforum.net about carb jetting. How do your plugs look? Any carb popping? Acceleration issues?

What jets do you have now? You may not need anything changed, maybe just adjust your mixture screw.

Not sure about plugs or current jets just recently bought the bike. And I replaced the plugs around the same time as the pipes.

The throttle response is only slow from idle to opening the throttle not if I'm already holding an rpm and I crack it

Sounds like mixture screw can be turned out a wee bit. I think if you turn out more than 3.5 turns it indicates you may want to go up one size with your pilot jet.

A good starting point will be 45/180 jets and 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw.

Where could I find the mixture screw? And the throttle response issue only started after the new pipes

So I have to drill out something on my carb just to get to the screw?
