Default Redtail Leather Solo Seat and Mount

Handmade by Redtail Leather in the USA.

Vintage Bend Seat: 10" Wide Plain Seat
Color: Crazy Black
Stitching Color: Black
Includes Front Mount

I have some springs, as well. I think 2" and 3". Happy to throw those in, as well. I only used it for about 400-500 miles before switching to an RSD seat. Really hard to part with this one. I think it's an amazing looking seat.

Asking $150 (doesn't include shipping) OBO.

Found the springs. Also have bumpers from DK Customs.

The seat is comfortable. There is a little padding in it. But, comfort is subjective so I make not claim if you'd find it comfortable or not. Also depends on your riding style, terrain, shocks, etc.

The install isn't the easiest thing I've done, nor was it the worst. Here are the basic steps.

Remove the current seat.
Remove the rear gas tank bolt.
Remove the seat bolt (This is the step that stinks. I didn't remove my shocks and had to blindly remove the thing with my hands. I definitely swore a few times. In hindsight, lifting the read of the bike and removing the lower shock bolts would have saved me 15-20 minutes of fighting and swearing)
Install bolt on mount (available at DKC) or I can include mine for $20.
Seat and front mount are already attached so you can skip this step.
Attach bumpers/springs to seat pan.
Attach seat/seat mount to the gas tank lower bolt. May require a longer bolt (I think I have an extra).

Out of all the jobs I've done my bike, it's probably one of the easier ones.

How about this, is this seat more comfy than the stock one? That is what I have. Is this a picture of the RSD cafe seat? Honestly, is it more comfy? I ask because I'm planning a longish ride

It's about the same. If you use the springs, it's a smidge better but not too noticeable. The first picture (the item for sale) is of the leather solo seat from Redtail Leather. My signature picture has the seat which replaced this solo seat -- the RSD Solo Bob Job. I switched because of comfort. The RSD is better, yes. I also put in Progressive springs in the front forks and 11" 444s shocks in the rear.

Ah, got you.I'm going to pass for now. I've been holding off on a similar RSD seat but thanks for the 411.
