No Device: The cat

The cat
I picked up an 18 Tri-glide, runs ok. I have street tuned my last couple of twin cams, one with tts and the other with a pv. With all of the threads I have read, removing the cat really doesn’t add any power, in stock form. So If the cat is removed and I keep the stock air cleaner and mufflers will the ecm be able to handle the change without a tune, or is it going to lean it up even more and run hotter than with the cat. Eventually I’ll add the pv if I go further, thanks.

Not sure I want to throw the tuner on it yet, warranty is a small concern at this time. Steve Cole posted they saw a something like 1 hp difference with a decatted head pipe and the stock ac/mufflers. From what I’ve read the cats on the m8’s are much less restrictive thus only very minor gains when removed. Mostly looking for some heat reduction maybe a slightly better exhaust tone.
