Default Looking for a tire in Tampa.

I picked up a nail on my way home this afternoon so I'm in the market for a tire. Anybody in my area around Tampa have a hookup? I'm looking for a bargain basement price on a rear Dunlop D402 MT90B-16/Wide Whitewall for my 93 FLSTC.

Try Reinhardts MC in Lutz - tell him Jerry sent you - not sure how good of a deal you will get but its worth a try.

Cycle Gear on Florida and Fletcher will mount it for free if you bring the rim in and buy the tire from them. I usually buy them online and have it mounted locally by Wayne who used to run Wayne's World of Hogs on Florida Ave.

Is Wayne working at Cycle Gear now? I've known him since his Tampa V-Twin days but lost track of him when Waynes' World closed.

All is well. Found a good price from a local indie and had the new tire installed no problem.

Funny thing. The nail I found in the tire was not the cause of the leak! It didn't go through the tire or puncture the tube. The leak was from the valve stem. It had deteriorated at the base and was separating from the tube! Never seen that before.

You're blessed, a valve stem leak. PIA having to buy a tire when you're out on the road, the dealer and indys now day charge ya max amount. I like Jake Wilson for online, fast shipping and prices are usually less than most online vendors.

I was going to be needing a rear tire soon anyway so I bit the bullet and bought the tire. If I had just replaced the tube I'd have been pulling it apart again in a few months anyway. So all is good now.

Was it a Chinese tube? I don't trust those. The Chinese ones will star crack if punctured, causing more rapid air loss. I buy only Michelin or HD.
