Got to keep this thread alive.
Wasn't the weather just outstanding today (Saturday 2/16). Supposed to be good for the next few days as well. Hope spring has realy sprung and we don't get any more frigid cold snaps, especially for the upcoming Bike Week.
Went to a Hog meeting at Hooligan's near Destination Daytona early this AM in a long sleeve Tee over a short sleeve Tee and a Vest. Cool at 59 degrees but very pleasant. At 11 AM and much warmer, 25 bikes headed out for about a 30 mile ride for lunch in New Smyrna. After lunch every one headed out on their own and I took a long way home to make the ride about a total of 75 miles. Before leaving I had to get rid of the long sleeve shirt as the temp was now almost 80. The warm wind felt real good on the arms.
Previously I had gotten some early morning rides in on both this past Thursday and Friday. Both started out in the high 40's but quickly warmend up so I was able to shed the light jacket I was wearing real quick. The wind was quite brisk on Thursday and like to blow me off the bike when I was crossing the Mason Ave Bridge over to beach side.
I know these little rides to nowhere is not earth shaking news, but would love to hear reports from others and keep the thread alive.
With this thread getting almost 4000 views, there has to be a bunch out there that can add their ride stories.
I know I don't think about taking Photos when I'm out enjoying a ride, but if you can add some photos to your post it would make the stories even a little bit more interesting.
Weather is supposed to be nice again tommorow so gonna try to do another jaunt.

Perfect Friday weather in south Florida for a bike ride. Headed out at 8:00AM for Key Largo with temperatures in the mid 60's. Quickly warmed up to the upper 70’s and plenty of sunshine when it reached 80. Took the back roads using US-27 to Krome Ave that adjoins the Everglades. Got to Key Largo and tried extending my trip by an extra 70 miles to the 7mile bridge but the week-end traffic was starting to back up the road. Turned around and headed back home on the Florida Turnpike. Got in about 250 miles for the day. Will leave the bridge for another time.

Rode to brunch at Blue Water Bay Restaurant in Melrose with my bud, our wives and his nephew, who is a fairly new rider. He done good on his Sporty 48. Low 70s, cloudy with a bit of sun and about 17 drops of rain. Nice ride in the country of about 200 miles by Penney Farms, Geneva Lake and Camp Blanding,

Last Saturday, Left the house after breakfast heading South for Miami. Rode to Liberty City to have lunch at the last Royal Castle remaining in existence. Interesting neighborhood for an old white guy on a Harley. Turns out, it’s one of the original locations and still the original building but they no longer serve “ Castle burgers and Birch Beer”. Oh well. Ate lunch there anyhow, Burger and fries, then left for home.
For those unfamiliar with Miami, this place isn’t in the tourist guide. Sent a text to the Old lady while I was waiting for my food assuring her...” you do not want to be here”.
350 mi round trip and checked off any chance at a Royal Castle meal like the ones I grew up enjoying.
