I feel like we need to create a betting pool for the launch.

The only thing we got in the Seattle area close to the shuttle is our local volcano Mt. Rainier.
You like us, don't know when either will go up!
Enjoy the sights!

Wow just got ot see the launch from my front yard!! I could see it really good from Pompano. Watched it for a while until it went behind the clouds. Man I love that kind of stuff. I got to see it up close once. My mom worked for a company that put some computers on one of the first ones and we got to go watch it launch. Impressive even form down here!!!!

Mrs Fish and I just saw it from the house.
Hellava view, super clear night
it was casting a "moon glow" on the water right up until it dropped the bottle rockets.

I rode down to see it launch. i had a pretty good spot, too. It was on 528 at the last bridge before the beach.

I've seen a night launch before, but not that close. This time I could hear it!

Just to give some perspective on how fast that thing move....

in 52 seconds it is breaking the sound barrier.

In 60 seconds it is 4 miles away and 3.5 miles high

In 1 minute 54 seconds it is 18 miles away and 17 miles high

in 2 minutes 45 seconds it is 54 miles away and 37 miles high.

It is burning highly explosive hydrogen and oxygen at half a ton per second to achieve this speed!
