Default Motorcycle Insurance

I am coming up to my one year anniversary of owning my Harley. So I have renewal notices for my National HOG and Insurance in hand. This made me think to give HD a call to get an insurance quote to see if I could save a little $$$.

They did a "Best quote" with 4 different carries (including my present carrier, Progressive). The agent tells me she has a great lowest price of 493.00 with a company I never heard of. She asked how that comared to what I have and I told her it was way higher. My renewal is for 314.00 for the year.

Can't understand why Progressive was not even the lowest in her 4 quotes. They must pull the numbers out of their a$$es. BTY - this was an apples to apples comparresion.

I was with Progressive, but they kept going up each year. This year they sent me a notice that said I had a great beacon score but I wouldn't be getting the best rate because I had a new vehicle loan in the last 2 years. I got quotes and Geico beat them. They were 50% less.
I checked my cage ins. also and they were lower on that. I now have Geico on the bike and my OL's cage.

Two years ago when I shopped after buying my sporty, Geico was the highest of several, and Progressive was the lowest.

I guess at every renewal period, I should shop around!

Dang, dude...I'm listening to Inna-gadda-da-vida....

+1 - check Geico. My MC rates have gone down with them every year, not up.

When I first bought my bike I checked both Geico, and Progressive. Progressive was a lot less at 347.00. This year they dropped down to 314.00.

At $314 annual with full coverage on your bike, I wouldn't have even been shopping rates, maybe dumb on my part, but that's a real good rate living in S. FL.

336.00 with State Farm. I'm happy with that.

Bazinga!! LOL

Stay away from HD Ins. Poor rebel got run into the ground with it before he realized he was getting reamed. Although with his metro-lifestyle..he might have liked it

I will do some shopping next turn around but last year I added my suzuki only because it actually lowered my premium having a second bike. I guess they figure youre an avid rider if you own more than one.

Uninsured motorist is a must in this god forsaken tri-county (PB, Broward & Dade)
