me and some friends( 7 bikes,harleys and metrics,o no) rode to Anamosa saturday for the JP open house.we got there early bout 9:30 and out front there was a best bike contest sort of.so we get to lookin at all the rides and come up on this tricked out chopper.it was pretty sweet and the owner was on his knees cleaning up the rear wheel.we were on the opposite side and i asked him a question and he stood up.this is when i got a bit weird (for me and my buds anyway) he was wearing LEATHER BIBS and cowboy boots---thats it. now i wear chaps when its colder and i got fingerless gloves round here somewhere but this guys outfit struck me as kinda gay,maybe its me but i thought id share cause it sure was funny lookin! apologizes to all i mite offend

I had a buddy in the 70's, always showed up at parties in leather bibs and cowboy boots, used to leave 'em unbuttoned down the sides which was pretty scary. Only leather bibs I have ever seen, I'm sure they were custom made. The guy was 6' 10" tall, about 300#, ugly as sin, but I wouldn't have dreamed of thinking he was gay, he might have read my thoughts and killed me. He was a bad *** dude and maybe wore them for just that reason, a little shock factor. To each his own, I say, part of the "biker" mystique for me over the last few decades are the "freaks" I meet and get to know, personally I like "different" and on the "edge".

 

I'll betcha they were a hot and sweaty thing to wear!

Can't figger out whats so happy about showing up in a leather bib.

I'd be raw as a baboons butt after putting miles on a hardtail in leathers...

 

Most of the time,I hardly notice,but that would make me wonder.A few other things people wear make me wonder but I will keep that to myself being a "set in my way" old schooler.

 

He wasn't a HOMO on a scooter almost taking you out was he??
