Yea, if you have to ask if you can wear a FF on a harley, just skip it and wear your novelty helmet. You obviously aren't wearing a helmet for the right reasons anyway.

 

I have one but I hate it, I feel like I'm suffocating in it, I used to wear it in cold weather now I wear a balaclava and my 3/4 helmet, much happier.

I've heard that and seen a few pics. I beleive even some of the club members on the left coast wear 'em.

 

FF before I got my modular.
I could care less what another chooses to wear or not wear.

 

I can say this much, it makes my bike sound pretty sweet while wearing it.

Draw backs; gets a lil foggy sometimes, especially while lane splitting, LOL. I don't get that air in your face feeling unless I put the visor up.

And if you ever do ride with a club side by side in pack doing 80+, your friggin' ears will be ringing when you take your helmet off.

 

The biggest problem with buying a used helmet is that you have to trust that the previous owners never banged their head in it. Helmets are only good for one impact, then they are supposted to be thrown out or sent back to manufacturer to get the inner matterial replaced. The only way to know for sure is to send it in to get x-rayed by the manufacturer to see if it's still ok. A service that they offer. Even if you drop your helmet hard, they reccomend sending it in to be checked.

The majority of HD riders wear FF on the freeways in my area. Even many MC members including HA's wear FF. When riding around town I usually wear a half. When commuting to work I wear a FF cause I split lanes 80% of the way and there are just too many idiots out there during commute hours. When I go on a leisurely ride I'll normally wear a half even tho I know I should wear a FF but I just love the 1/2 too much.

 

Exactly. Here in San Diego, lane split to work and back. Insanity!
