One last "new guy" question about PGR etiquette. There was a guy in my home town who always rode his Harley wearing PGR apparel and flying flags. Haven't seen him since Covid but do you guys fly your flags (large or small) all the time? Do you wear your PGR patched vest when riding and or just on a mission? Any hard or unspoken rules here I should be aware of?

Some places have a problem with wearing the Vest with a PGR patch, but like many have said,,,, It's my vest, and I'll wear it where ever I want to ! Just don't dishonor the patch/PGR ! If I were you I would wear it as you see fit. Or check with your local chapter to find out their rules.

I fly smaller flags on my dual antennas full time, along with 3 large flags for missions only. One USA Flag and one PGR flag. (The large flags are 1-USA flag, 1 PGR flag, and 1 mission service flag.) I also have a cling-on PGR banner on my windshield. Nobody here has a problem with it.

Where they have most of the problems with the vests and patched, is around MC's that claim territory . But with a header and patch only there is usually nothing said as agreements have been made in most of those areas. They recognize the PGR as friendly, and non claiming.

I don't fly my flags or wear my PGR vest except when I am on or going to a PGR mission.

My reason is pretty simple, they way I ride in traffic around here,I don't want to give PGR a bad name. Same with my Legion Riders vest.

Not the flag, not the mount.. But what are you using for the actual poles

I have the mounts. I will order the "monsoon" version of flags... What I'm struggling to find is the poles. 1"-1¼" diameter and rigid enough to withstand 75mph for long distances.
I was on an escort honor ride the other day and we drove 60 miles with full 3x5 or 4x6 flags... I want to fly my flags but can't find a suitable pole. Where can I find a good option?

The 3 piece breakdown pole from Rivco is a tank! I have one and it is stronger than anyone would need.

I have the 1 piece Rivco pole.
Mount system, pole, and flags held up well in its first outing last weekend.
My slip over PGR flag sock also held up for the 1 1/2 hour trip to and from the mission at highway speeds
Note: I had to switch during initial setup from a 4’ x 6’ to a 3’ x 5’ because the larger flag touched the ground when on the side stand.

I am a very polite rider and live near Camp Pendelton sooo...I'll wear it when riding locally so the boots know I'm a supporter. Beyond that, missions only. Decided to go with the 3 pc Rivco SS flagpoles, they look tough but would they be unacceptable for the Flag Line? Also, when it's hot out, what do you guys wear instead of leather vests in the Flag Line? I can't see wearing leather in 90+* heat. Anyone make a nice lightweight vest?

Okay, nuther question. Do I need to make/bring the flag I will hold during the ceremony (1" white PVC) or does PGR provide those? If I need to meet PGR guidelines for that using the same flag I fly on my bike...that changes things. If PGR provides those and I can leave the flags on the bike, that's easier.

Also, Amazon has some different length poles and flags at https://www.amazon.com/Cool-Water-Pr...077K68LLR&th=1 and I'm wondering what lengths/sizes make the most sense for a mounting to a bike.

If anyone can recommend a suitable hitch option so the flag(s) are positioned behind the bike instead of alongside it, please share it. That would be my preference but how would that work here?

There are brackets that can mount the flags to the license plate, but they couldn't be huge flags. Most folks use a 3"X6" or 4"X8" flag, I think, on their bikes, so no big deal. I know Kuryakyn makes some, but theirs are pricey.

Light colored lightweight “fishing style”(sunblock rated) long sleeved T-shirt under my vest.
Drink LOTS of water.
I accept the discomfort and focus on the mission.
I HAVE switched to a “plain”(no pins/patches) vest to reduce the weight when standing a Flag Line in the summer.

Something else is the nylon sleeves that can cover your arms. I really like those for riding. They keep from sunburn fairly well also.
