Anybody tried to terminate the vent hoses with a metal end and have it drip the **** on a hot part of the header to burn it off? Just wondeing out loud, haven't tried it yet. I get about a tablespoon of really foul smelling water after about 200 miles in my catch can and can't see any down side other than discoloring the header, but it would be hidden under the heat sheild.

Not sure if I'm crazy about that idea but I get the same stuff in my catch can. My Ultra Classic 103 cu. in. motor is a "spitter". I have just resolved myself to clean the catch can often, which is no big deal. Removing the can is a possibility but don't want crap dripping on my garage floor.

Both of my bikes vent to the ground and I never have any drippings on my garage floor. Most of the stuff is pushed out when riding. I do use a small plastic filter at the end of the line which probably catches anything left after I pull into my garage. I buy them on eBay and they will last me for years. I used to have catch cans but they are pain in the ***. Just vent to the ground and don't worry about it.

mine is vented open, runs along the frame on the exhaust side, it vents right before the frame curves up at the swing arm, I cut the hose so it angles out, never any residue on anything behind it...

I like the clean look of this!! Where did you get your vacuum connectors? What type of hose did you use? I am concerned about the heat on this set up, i want to make sure no mistakes on my part are made! Thanks for posting!

The vacuum connectors are old OEM connectors I had from previous bikes. I just hacked them up to suite my need. Those hoses in my original post didn’t work out very well. I used heat shrink tubing to connect them and they started coming undone, so I switched to just a piece of fuel line between them. It worked much better. But I’ve completely changed it again. I just didn’t like the idea of any attached parts being in the filtered air area. Plus I didn’t like all that intake noise. I’ve gone with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner that allows the use the of factory cover so it’s quieter but still is a high flow. I like the look of the stock factory cover better than all that exposed filter area.

I just used a Y connector and run it to the ground. Maybe 1 or 2 drops n the floor after a hard hot riding day, never bigger than a dime
