Default Help with selecting a new seat - 2015 FLHR

I just ordered the 2015 Road King in Morocco Gold Pearl. I test drove the 2014 but didn't like the seat at all and felt it pushed me too far forward and no room for my legs. I know the perfect seat will change that. I am looking for a solo seat (coming from a Heritage and just LOVE that saddle!). I am a female rider - 5'8" with long legs. I don't like a seat that is too wide at the tank. No problem with reaching the ground so I don't need a low profile seat. My question is - how do you choose a seat (Mustang, Corbin, Danny Grey etc.) without being able to test them on your bike? I'm afraid to make the wrong choice as that can be expensive. I tried the CVO seat while in the dealership and it felt pretty good but I don't like the look (prefer a solo). Any suggestions??

My girl friend says the Corbins to hard for her. The Mustang might be the ticket for you. I like a Hammock seat but you want a solo so I'm not sure what you want. Mustang gives you a 10 day guarantee if you buy the seat directly from them.

I have the Mustang solo, and like it a lot. It is a nice looking comfortable seat.
It's not wide in the front like you are looking for. It also keeps you from sliding forward towards the tank, and sits you back around an inch and a half from stock.

Based on your post, I would say it would fit your wants well.

Mustang Vintage Solo. Very comfortable. If Mustang has a 10 day trial period, you can't go wrong trying it.

I looked long and hard and ended up with the mustang vintage solo. My main reason for getting it was that it was the only seat that would accommodate a seat grab rail. But I like the feel as well.

you can check out the cvo roadglide seats for the 2012s. they give you a little room to 'move around' without locking you into one spot, and they definitely don't push you too far forward. i find mine to be very comfortable for full day rides.

actually just picked up a new one for the wife's bike. check with pcpain here on the forum. got it for just over $300 (minus the passenger pillion, also don't have a bsr). and it is a leather seating surface, with the vinyl side panels.

I went with the Mustang Sport Touring on my '15 FLHR, but that's a two up seat. I've had the vintage solo on other Road Kings and Street Glides I"ve owned. Great seat. All you need to do is lift a Mustang seat then a stock Harley seat to see the difference in quality of the foam used. Never had a Corbin or LePera I thought compared to Mustang comfort.

Thanks everyone. I looked at the Mustang Vintage Solo Seat as suggested and it looks perfect! GREAT to know they have a 10 day trial - that takes the pressure off.
