Default How long do your tires last?

I ride a 2010 Ultra Classic. It had 7,000 miles on it when I bought it, and at 22k I replaced the tires, which were pretty worn. I've got 15k on this set and they just failed the penny test. Mileage wise, how long should a set of tires last? I've asked several people and have gotten just as many answers.

There are so many variables - riding style, city vs highway, tire type, etc.

I'd say on average, 15K is *very* good for a rear tire, and the low end of average for a front tire.

I got about 13000 on the Dunlops. Then i went to the Shinko SR777's and they are the best tires and way cheaper than the Dunlops. They are pretty close to the same tread too. I got about 18000 out of my last Shinko's.

Tires in South Texas... I'm 20 minutes from La Vernia... don't last as long as they could.

The road surface here is rough, and the summer heat helps them wear faster....

And everyone's riding style is different.

Change them when you think they need changed.

18,000 out of a Shinko 777????? I got 4500 on a rear and could have went 5000mi at the most. And there was no burn outs or anything like that done with it.

On the stock tires on my old 2010 Ultra I got 10-12000 miles out of the rear tire. On my 2014 I have 11,000 miles on it and the rear still has a good amount of tread left. The new tire compounds wear much better.

On Alabama roads, the rear Dunlop gets about 12K on my 'King.
Front Dunlop goes just before 20K.

On my 04 Road King Classic, I would get 5-7k on the rear using Dunlop's and 13-17k on the front one's. That's mostly suburb ridding.

I get about 9-11k on my rear Dunlops. Good mix of riding between superslab and lots and lots of twisties so they get well-worn from edge to edge. Most of my riding is solo riding.

I change my front every other rear change so the front gets around 18-22k on it.

Switched to Me888 in August. I have 8500 mi. on them and the rear looks good but is squirley in low speed turns. Hate them. Front good, but I am switching to Michilen Commander II
