Start here.. I would recommend the 480lb spring with stage 2 upgrades.

DITTO!

$35 & few mins to install & poss re-adj clutch and he will be good to go without having to spend more money & time to install a complete new clutch pack etc which isnt needed when the SE hvy dty clutch spring should have enough additional calmping force on the clutch pack to keep it from slipping due to the additional pwr/trq his motors now got.

Change the cable!!! I put a Barrnet spring in mine and a new Barrnet cable and stayed about the same just a little heavier.

One point to remember is that the wiz does reduce plate pressure.. Exactly the same as going to a lighter spring.. Won a bottle of good (hopefully) scotch over that one.. Get the bottle on Friday..

If you pulled the primary and changed the spring you coulda saved yourself 50 bucks.. Primary gasket can be expensive tho..

Living with a heavy pull just wasn't a option for me. I installed the scorpion clutch and man is this thing sweet! Money well spent as far as I'm concerned. I'm currently running the 42lb springs which ends up with a lighter pull than stock and no slipping at all so far. Worst case scenario I will install 3 of the 58lb springs. The clutch is very smooth and finding nuetral is a breeze.

when i first got my fm 107 kit, i went budget and just got the se spring. that was a big mistake. the clutch pull being so hard at low speed made it difficult to stay in the 'friction zone'. it was about a month before i went ahead and got the aim vpc92. clutch pull was significantly reduced at low rpm. being stiffer at high rpm was not an issue. at high rpm, you aren't trying to maintain a hold in the friction zone, you're just pulling and releasing.

The best way to fix a clutch that is marginal after performance up grades unless doing something like a 120 ci motor or larger is to simple change the friction material of the clutch.. Barnett make both Kevlar and carbon fiber frictions that will bite better than the stockers and still get a good feel.. My prefered setup up to about 120 fp torque, 6 speeds 110 tq, 5speeds is the 06-up clutch ramps, early clutch spring, and Barnett stock plate-count Kevlar.. Pull is less then the 99-05 stock clutch but dyno runs show it not slipping.

Cost for the parts is about $175 bucks if you don't have the ramps or early spring.. One thing nice about the diaphragm spring arrangement of a stock clutch is that they are a constant rate spring.. Pressure does not increase as the lever is pulled in like on clutches that use coil springs for plate pressure.. Also the setup does increase lever pressure as the RPMs goes up like the VPC plus if delivers better holding power at lower RPMs than VPC.
