Default Aux B/R/T kit with trailer wiring

Help, I bought an auxiliary brake/running/turn signal kit for my 13 Ultra Limited. I already have a trailer wiring harness plugged in for my BushTec. Was told by the parts guy that this aux kit would plug in 'in front' of my trailer harness and operate my trailer lights also. Obviously you can tell by now, I don't have the slightest idea as to how this would work!! Looks to me like the trailer harness is plugged in where this aux harness is supposed to go, so, do I need to splice it in to the wires? Is it even possible? Could it be installed to operate the bike but not the trailer? Thanks!

I can't help you with the "BRT plug in" but this link might clarify color codes etc.

Been too long since I did this on an 08 but did not have to splice. Seems like the trailer harness plugged in to the bike harness first and the R/T/B unit plugged into the trailer harness before it went back to the trailer. But the way my trailer was wired the R/T/B converter converted the bike's lights and not the trailer.

I used this type of connection for my trailer. It was very easy. Just unplug the wiring harness under the seat that goes to the rear of the bike. Plug in the provided connector so no wires need to be spliced. This all gets connected to the 5 into 4 relay assembly for the trailer lights. You will need to supply 12 volt power and ground from the battery.
