I am fussy about filters, I run WIX or NAPA Gold (re-boxed WIX) as a rule of thumb

When I looked at the nominal filtration for a WIX filter for my FLHTPI it was 20 microns

the problem is Harley specifies 5 microns, and that is when I started using only OEM filters on my bikes.

If you can find the micron rating for the Mobil 1 filters and they are close to the HD spec, by all means feel free to use them.

there are several threads on the forum about this topic

NEGGY,
Thanks for the info, and the link!

I've not tried this filter(yet), 'had some Pep Boys rewards$$, PB couldn't get the K&N, I ordered 5.

Most of the feedback on the link seemed positive, so I won't have any undue anxiety giving the Mobil1 Filters a try...

It's good, but I prefer the K/N 171C filter from Amazon.

I run the m1mc-131 on mine. No trouble so far and oil still looks good. Been about 3k since oil change.

If I'm not mistaken, in cars anyway, the Mobil1 is a K&N without the nut welded to it.

The Wix filter for Harley is 5 micron. I run the black Wix and all is well.
