Default Ok, here is one for ya

"Parade Mode". Was told when sitting in traffic and engine running the motor will go into Parade Mode. Meaning that it will only run on one cylinder and will go back to both if you twist the throttle. Or you can put into Parade Mode by rolling the throttle forward.
Ok here is the problem. Sometimes after shutting the bike off and restarting it will crank and crank and then run rough like its in Parade Mode but will NOT accelerate no matter how far or how many times you roll the throttle. I will then have to "reset" the bike by turning it on and off (not starting) three times or so and then start it. Usually it runs fine after that.
Mechanic that does all the work on my bike said he never heard of this happening and will have to research it. Anyone here have an idea?

Also you cannot make your bike go into Parade Mode. Rolling the grip forward will turn that function on or off.

Do you have a habit of opening the throttle slightly at shutdown? That will lower the idle on the next start. Some people hold the front brake at shutdown causing a slight forward roll on the throttle and that will raise the idle on the next start.

Last weekend this happened to me as well. It was really hot and at a stop the bike went into the tem management mode, then when I took off from the stop, it just stayed on one cylinder. Stopped, shut off bike looked at everything I could think of, found nothing. Started it and it ran fine from then on.

i turned my parade mode off completely. it never goes on no matter how hot it gets. its worthless imo. if it were important, Harley wouldn't allow you to turn it off completely.
