You may wish to check aftermarket. They make ones that will allow you to get rid of the faring supports the the engine guard making the job much easier.
I did that on my RGU when adding TRIGlide tree to it.

Search ghost brackets on eBay . I used them when rebuilding my RGU. Works perfectly fine, no bouncing or swaying, doesn’t connect to crash bar.
