I can only speak for the Hammock on my 2014 SGS. I'd say it moved me back slightly, the seating fit with the Harley adjustable backrest is perfect. I'm 5'10" and like this position better than the too close stock seat. Great ride with the Hammock and Harley 13" hand adjustable shocks.

I tried both with the wife. We both really liked the hammock seat but we both hated the road zeppelin seat. For me, I never could get the RZ adjusted to a comfortable level. I always felt like I had pressure points somewhere. My wife said it just didn't feel right all the way around for her. I wound out buying the heated hammock from Kutter for a good price and we love it.

RZ the only way to go - long or short trips its the cats ***! Been using one since 2009 on a RK and wouldn't give it up....wife loves it to. seems like we can always get that extra 50 miles on a long trip when everyone else has a sore butt.

If you are looking used I have a friend that want to sell one - he GF don't like it - he loves it and wants to keep the GF....If you go the RZ route I could give you his number.

Good luck! I think we all go through a few seats before we find the right one.

You wouldn't happen to have the part number for the HD adjustable back rest that you are using in the pic? Is that matching to the Hammock seat look?

Thanks,

Thanks,
This is the adjustable backrest I'm using. The pad is a seperate purchase so you have a choice.

I had my first RZ seat in 07 on my 07 Ultra Classic. Put 50K on that seat.
Then I got a 2011 Limited, the RZ wouldn't fit so I bought a new one and put 62K in it.
Now I have a 2016 Road Glide Ultra. The 2nd RZ does fit the Fuggly.

There are two secrets that you need to know about the RZ seat.

1. It takes a long time to figure out the air pressure you like in the seat, I found the less air the better.

2. Adjust your highway pegs for low and forward. Just enough to bend your knees slightly. Kind of like riding a horse.

I tried a hammock for a few days...I liked it, my wife said she was in so much pain she would not ride anymore...so I tried the RZ, we were both very happy (except when I wrote the check).

I have the Hammock and HD rider backrest on my 07 RK. The stock seat was uncomfortable after 100 miles or so but the Hammock moved me up and forward a bit. It is a much more comfortable seat for longer rides though. Can't speak to the RZ as I've never had or sat on one.

Going in 2 hours to try out a tallboy, as I literally find myself sitting on the slope between the rider and passenger on my '15 RK on longer rides. I plan on taking full advantage of the demo program, as it would be asinine not to. I do understand that not all dealers participate, but thankfully my local ones do.
