Cool BOOM system upgrades - worth the cost?

Hello,

My dealer currently has a display for Boom system upgrades.
I was just wondering if any members out there have done upgrades to their boom system.?
I am interested in hearing about what mods you have done and whether you are happy with the results.
Do the upgrades make significant improvements to clarity and loudness or are they not worth the cost?

I wouldn't recommend it because once you do it's obvious you'll blame the dealer for anything that goes wrong. Why would you even goto a business it appears you don't trust.

I'll be charitable by saying that it's an OK system, but that's like damning it with faint praise. I have the Boom 2 set up, but if I had to do it over again I'd go with an aftermarket. Look in the audio section..you'll find a wealth of info and opinion.

If you're thinking of any audio upgrade I would go with an amp and 7.1 speakers from biketronics. I'm really happy with the sound and the clarity plus they have a lifetime warranty. I've heard some negative feedback of the boom systems. A friend of mine wasn't happy with sound of his boom upgrades so he took it out and had to do the whole job over again. With a biketronics system you will be happy.

Not sure your year/model : the Boom stage 2 is for 14-newer. Any of the boom components is an improvement over stock whether it is the upgrade components for pre-14 or the 14-later newer stuff but, if you are willing to go aftermarket there are choices that are better for the same or less money.

Check out the Audio forum, good information there on the Rushmore bikes and a real helpful bunch of people.

The BOOM systems are garbage and absurdly overpriced.

you can build your own asskicking system for under $400 if you're a DIY type. or you can buy a quality kit from places like www.biketronics.com. theres another company i cant recall who sell easy-install kits using ARC amps that claim superior sound for cheaper than Biketronics wants, but i cant remember who...its a texas based company i think?
