To say that a 103 motor sees no improvement beyond a .500" lift without headwork is utterly absurd.

I think the best way to answer the OPs question is that the HO cams are not SE 255s. But can be tuned by a competent tuner with a proper stage 1 upgrade to make some good numbers without tearing into the cam chest.

Wouldn't disagree with that at all.

Yep, and another reason Fuelmoto recommends B level heads past a certain point.
Also interesting to see the bazillion builds with 255s that put out no more than these new OEM cams with apparently lower lift.
Hint, it's because it's a low end cam. Were it a high end cam with less overlap and later closing the lift would make more of a difference as that is needed since the duration is so much smaller.

Again, love the new cams. Pretty much a SE 255 (minus a degree or two and a smidgen of lift) with nearly all the performance and none of the unneeded noise.

Default HO cam specs

Intake .511 02/30 212 091 tdc
Exh. .511 43/10 233 095

More like a short duration SE 204, not even close to 255.

Besides the lift, very close to a 255 in intake/exhaust duration and timing.

Thanks! I'm lovin' it! I put 6,000 miles on it in the first 90 days I had it.

It's a H-D Hammock seat and the H-D adjustable rider's backrest.

I demoed all the seats, including Sundowner and Ultra, and this was the most comfortable by far.

I heard from a salesman at my local dealer that the new 2016 103 high output on the wide glide aside from the different cams also had "some added counter balance" somewhere to take some of the "shake" out. (not like the B motor) Is this true?? If so that BS. It kind of sounds like they didn't know what they were talking about. I hope not, they are suppose to shake!
