Default seat on your bike MEAN CITY CYCLES

SHOUT OUT.... FIVE STAR RATING......
MEAN CITY CYCLES ....... last winter was my quest lower myself in the saddle of my "12" Ultra. I looked at lowering kits, new and improved shocks or just learning to live with it. On this bike I was flat footed but always felt a little top heavy at stops...... a wise HD Forum poster suggested I consider having my seat modified...... long story short. shipped it to North Carolina where Lori and the gang at MCC did a bang up job.... down 2", 600 miles into the seat mod and I would say 99% satisfied..... no one's perfect.
customer info 5 star
customer service 5 star
quality of workmanship 5star
staying on time 5 star
delivering the ride they said they would 5 star
achieving the customers goal 5 star
Price 5 star

I've got some questions: First, was this the stock seat you sent in? aproximate cost for such a re-work. did the re-work move you either forward or backwards?
After removing 2" or so of padding, does the long ride comfort suffer?

my mod was $165 on the stock seat...... 2" down...... they can move you forward or back but I requested JUST DOWN..... they use a high density foam..... I like it and can't tell a difference on a 200 mile ride ....BUT IT IS STIFFER.... 600 miles total so far and they say 1000k is full break in.... i'm happy with it.....235LBS. 5'10" and just wanted more leg spread at STOPS ......Good Luck ...... I wont do a 500 plus for a couple months but figured if I don't like it I'll add a sheep skin....

thanks for the info. all good to know. I just got the sheepskin from alaska leather. I have it on the stock seat (11' ultra), but havent put any serious miles on yet to notice much.
I also have a 3 button zeppelin seat getting the electric pigtail replaced at the mfg right now. I had bought the zep on the cheap due to the electronics not working, but decided before I buy another seat I'll get it fixed and give it a real try....

I always feel too far forward like I'm practically sitting on the tank.

I just got mine back from them also. I'm 6'1" and it was time to make some room on the ol' Deluxe. I had them move me 2" back and 1" up. I also went the memory foam option.
About $160-165 buy the time it was all said and done. Depending on your shipping preference you'll have your seat back w/in a week if you time it right.

Highly recommend their work.

I just got my seat (2014 Street Glide) back from Mean City Cycles and I can't wait to get out and give it a try. As far as finish work the seat looks great. I can't wait to see what it feels like in the saddle for a nice long ride.
