Default HELP wrapping exhaust.

Would like some advice about wrapping exhaust. Bike is mostly black and I am adding some red accents and thought a red wrap on my new black S&S head tube would look sick. Who makes the best wrap, any advice on the process will be greatly appreciated. Will post pics when bike is done. Thank You in advance.

Be sure you really hate that exhaust before you wrap it because after... it's going to corrode or rust like crazy. I mean typically.

Regardless, good luck. Does look good wrapped if you do it right.

You can buy all the exhaust wrap you need from Summit Racing.
A friend of mine got the wrap wet, and pulled it as tight as he could,
then started the Bike up to bake it on.
Not what I would do but it worked for him.

Is this really a bad idea? Do not want to wreck the pipes as they are new.

Yep, kiss the pipes goodbye. Once wrapped within a few months they'll be awfully ugly underneath the wrap. Plus the red coloring will fade over time to a nice dark pinkish hue. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Wrapping the pipes will almost always result in ruined pipes.

I agree with all you guys saying wrapping the pipes will ruin them. But try telling that to anyone, they don't believe it so I just let them find out for themselves.

Wrap from the mufflers to the motor so that the wind doesn't catch the edges and flare it out. Use stainless ties and take your time if you do it. Some people wrap over the heat shield and others remove them first. DEI is a reputable brand. Good luck!
