Default Rain gear that works for you?

I finally have sprung for a decent rain suit and found some anti fog for my glasses w half shell lid. Is this as good as it gets behind 15in windshield?

What's your rain setup or kit for touring or long rides that turn wet?

Living in the UK we can expect rain at any time. I routinely ride in a Halvarssons 2-piece suit which is storm proof and yes, I've needed it! It has detachable linings and umpteen zips, to cater for hot through to extreme cold, as well as rain.

The best gear for rain is a full face helmet with a shield. I've ridden in rain plenty of times with glasses and goggles over them and the rain will get behind them both and go right in your eyes. A couple of times it was coming down so heavy that I couldn't even keep my eyes open. If I use my shield on the helmet, no problems.

Besides that I have a Tourmaster Sentinel suit that works fine. Rain is so crazy in Alabama in the summer that I've gotten soaked to the bone when first starting out then I'll be completely dry by the time I get home.

Bajillions of threads on this already, everything you need to know, and more:

Questions like this will inevitably yield a list of everything that exists.

I just retired my 2 piece Rain Rider gear that I bought in 1983.It was still keeping me dry,but I was concerned that one day I'd be riding in the rain with nothing but the sleeves left on,the rest of the suit blew off.I bought a HD brand,I guess I'll see how good it is next week on the trip to Americade.

Any more, and I'm likely to pull over for the day. It's just not worthwhile to me, especially when I'm touring for fun.

That said, I sure have had fun in warm summer thunder storms. Drowning myself, riding with my mouth hanging open to drink rain drops, having a soggy ball. I do this about once a year.

For road trips I like my Aerostitch Darien suit. 10+ years old, over 150,000 miles, and still great. I use it for longer trips, or when I must ride locally in bad weather.

For short rides, getting on/off bike all day, I'll use FrogToggs.

Refreshing topics keeps content fresh IMO. FYI: I did search for rain gear in the sites search box and got page of garbage. I'll just use google next time too. Lesson learned. Thx

For long trips I do the same. Full face helmet is a huge benefit in the rain.

I also have a pair of the boot covers, which help keep the feet dry.

If my head and feet are dry, the rest of me can put up with a lot.
