So the Street Glide is the Electra Glide but renamed? Why? I've just gotten my first Harley-Davidson (2019 CVO Limted), and have never really paid attention to Harleys before, but even then I still knew the Electra Glide name.

The Street Glide is basically a stripped-down, sport version of the Electra Glide without the tour pac and with a lower stance, smaller windscreen, fairing mounted mirrors, and a 2-up seat. Same frame. They still offered the Electra Glide Standard along side the SG.

They no longer sell the Electra Glide.
Now the 2025 Street Glide Ultra has a Tour Pak. It is what we used to call the Electra Glide.
The above is a 2025 Street Glide Ultra. More info in the link below. https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...ide-ultra.html
The Electra Glide got it's name because it has an electric start (starting motor). That might have been a big deal in 1965 but not any more. Maybe that's why they are doing away with the name Electra Glide.

The person I responded to just bought a 2019, in which that year they offered both Electra and Street. Just clearing it up for him to relate to the bike he has. That's why I said "offered", as in past-tense.

Which is pretty much a stripped down FLHT. FLHX is just a cute electra glide. Some guys like having cute bikes. Also they remove saddle bag guards and passing lamps.
