40*-85* is good for me.
I like to ride year round and the heated gear really helps if it gets too cold. My wife likes to frolic with Mickey Mouse during the holidays, so she'll fly down to Orlando and I ride the King down to thaw out a bit. We'll also hit the Keys for a couple days and then we ride back up on the way home.

i like the 65-70 degrees. i do a lot of early morning riding leaving for work at 0300hrs so you get a pretty good temp spread. in the winter, i'll ride any time the temp in the morning is about 35. not looking for ice so thats why i like it at 35. even now as we approach fall, temp swings can range from mid 50's in the morning to 75, 80 or 90 degrees. i keep an electric liner with me once it starts to get cool. hate it when it gets above 90. these motors just get hot even when you're moving (prior 2014).

as long as i riding, temp is secondary
down to around 20 f and up to around 120.
i don't mind the hot temps as long as im moving and can stop to hydrate once ever couple of hours.
as far as cold, its easier with heated gear, lowers and a good bike set up. ice obviously limits your ability to travel great distances.
ive gotten caught out a few times where it was ride or be there for a few days. not the best situation but its always a choice. ive always chosen to ride, maybe I'll learn someday.
