Default 107ci or 110ci drop in?

Hi there folks, just had a few questions about some of the engine mod choices available for my bike. I'm currently on an 07 flhpi, I believe these are 96ci motors with the 103 bb upgrade, but I'm not entirely sure if there are other differences etc. It is the ABS model. It does have a high flow intake, is running true duals/cfr's because I love the sound and don't really want to change that part (I'm a sucker for the sound)

What I'm currently looking at are the Fuel Moto big bore kits- the 107 and the 110 respectively as I feel that this is as far as this particular bike will be going modification wise. It says that the FM 110 doesn't require case boring-which is my immediate draw to thinking of "bigger engine, bigger numbers, right?"- but what are the pros and cons of the 107 kit versus the 110 kit?

Both kits advertise that they include:

Custom Fuel Moto / CP Carillo Forged Pistons (Thinking of running at either 10.5/10.75:1)

Fuel Moto Extreme Duty Cylinders- Iron liners for the 107, steel for the 110.

Wood Performance Knight Prowler Camshafts
The 107 comes with TW-555's or 777's, the 110 offers those as well as TW-8-6, TW-999-6 or the TW-999-6A

Wood Performance Alpha Series Directional Lifters

Fuel Moto Adjustable Pushrods, gaskets bearings etc.

I feel like it's important to note that I would be getting head work done at the same time- I'm thinking that if I end up going with the FM kit I'll just get the Level B heads that they have, as those seem like they'd be a good fit.

Thoughts folks? Feedback? Let me know I'm not just bouncing ideas off of myself and convincing myself that they seem like good ones?

Going to need to add a Variable pressure clutch as well.

Doesn't the FLHPI have a heavy duty service clutch of some variation?

Also still looking for clarification on this- but is the 07 FLHPI a 96 with a103 big bore, or is it just a flat 103?

It probably has the SE clutch. That won't hold back a 107-110 with head work.

Ah, gotcha. I'll make sure to add the variable clutch to the list as well then.

I don't know about what fuel moto actually uses but would guess the 110 cylinders are HD and 107 are stock rebores. Nothing really wrong with either but the 110s are mass produced within tolerance for the Pistons while the rebores should be bored and honed for proper piston fit. The rebores also ought to be cheaper. 3 cubes are not a big deal either way.

If done right the 107 should put you in the 125 range of tq. and 115 range for hp. What more do you what with a stock crank...Now the cam will right the rest of the book..Pick right and you should be pulling a 100 plus tq from 1500 rpm across the board , fun times... I havnt had any problems... Good luck

So the 107 can be done without having to mess with the crank? Is the same for the 110, or in that case, does the crank need to be welded and true-balanced?

Anything Fuel Moto does will not disappoint you regardless of which direction you go.

Any time you go too much above 120 ft/lbs of torque on a stock crank you're just asking for issues. It's best to send it out to Darkhorse or another shop that does crank work or pick up an S&S unit.
