Default Need help

I've got an 02 Road King. Last weekend I washed it and later went for a ride. Pulled up to a stop and it died. Started again fine, but would die everytime I stopped. Looked down and noticed my gages are gone, no display or light. Running lights all work, but no turn signals or brake light. Turns out I'm blowing my accessory fuze. What happened and how are these all interconnected?

I guess I will be the first one to say...
get your self a service manual for your bike. It has all the wiring diagrams in it.
The ACCESS fuse is connected to alot more than just the acces switch. Yes, the speedo, lights, adnmany more things.
Have you added, removed any chrome or parts?
Have you had the nacelle or headlight off recently?
Have you replaced a turn signal bulb?
Check simple thimgs like that first.

Also, electricity is like water in a stream...it will find the path or least resistance. So if you have a pinched wire or a wire that is over heating then the fuse is the least resistance and will blow.

With the guages gone and stalling, I would check first for low battery voltage. It may be a regulator or stator going out.

Thanks for the advice. Nothing had been modified, moved or repaired lately...that's the mystery. I have the manual. I'll look at the schematics. problem is, like lots of guys out there, i'm no electrician. I'll give it a try though.

It pretty much just starts to die out as soon as I clutch it. I can keep it fine if I keep a little throttle on it obviously. And if I come to a stop and throttle it a bit, it will hold after that and idle fine.

1-check voltage at battery with engine running..ok?
2-erpp is correct..is it related to a short on the brake line?..
3-have you removed the seat, battery or center gauge panel on the gas tank?--many wires in this area that can get nicked?
4-anything wet inside the turn signals or tailight ?...did you change-out one of these bulbs rescently?
5-did you just change handlebars, grips, levers ? (possible pinched wire)
