Shifter linkage was loose so I was able to snug it up to about half of what it was so that's not it. A local dealer told me to raise the back end up and open the inspection cover and move the wheel watching the compensator. If loose it would be noticeable. No lateral movement there at all but I haven't pulled the outer primary. If I do that, what am I looking for exactly? Can a bad compensator be tight yet bad? In April, I had 510 cams installed with new cam bearings and tensioners, rods and tubes. I'm wondering if the rods perhaps are now flattened at the ends, like a member told me can happen when they are new resulting in the need to readjust. I have never set hydraulic lifters before. Solids yes. I understand they have to be set stone cold. Will they have bled down sitting over night? Or do I have to remove the rods and tubes first? Seen some good vids on adjusting but kind of vague on that aspect other than they say let them drain.
