Default 98' Ultra Classic Battery Tender question....? Help !

Well, my battery tender for my 98' Ultra Classic is about 5 years old & I noticed that light is blinking & constant red/green continuous. The battery is fully charged.

What is the life span on the Battery Tenders? Sounds like it just went bad....

How do you know the battery is fully charged? What brand is the tender? I have one of my original tenders which is 10 years old. I own about 5 of them. Lawn mower. 3 motorcycles. And one auto start push mower. Most would fail from a power surge or dropping it. IMO Good luck

Before you race out and buy a new tender make sure the battery is good, how old is the battery??I used a battery tender jr on my 98 ultra and still using the same one on my 08 ultra, gotta be 14,15 years now.

Well, they're just an electronic device so they can fail. Not real common but it does happen. Off brands tend to be worse than the "Battery Tender" brand.
But, as others have said, verify that the battery is in fact good and fully charged.
What's the barrery resting voltage a few hours after it's been off a charger?

Battery is brand new. Volts look great on my gauge. I bought this new battery thinking my 5 month old new battery was bad. I even changed the charging pig tail on the battery.

It is an authentic Battery Tender, not an off brand.

Voltage should be measured at the battery with a digital volt meter. Do not rely on the dash gauge.

Hav you hooked the tender to another vehicle? That's what I'd try.
Same result=bad charger.
Proper operation=something on bike not right.

Buy a new one and move on.

Wait, I meant a new battery tender, not a new motorcycle.

I love my Evo. I bet a new bike would do the fix and be a lot better ride !

This is the only battery tender model i can find with red and green flashing function. If this is your model and the battery is good (checked at rested battery with volt meter)then the tender is most likely bad.Sorry about the adobe link but its what my pc put it in.
