944 progressive rear shocks
Mounting the 944 with the adjuster cup at the bottom. My question is does that cup hold water? Here in the Pacific Northwest it's not if you're going to get wet it's when.
Save the there is better shocks out there Theory. I read the forums a lot I just want to know if they hold water. Unless you can actually convince me of a 12 in shock that be perfect for my shortnes.

I am not trying to install anything on my bike the wrong way in fact I do not even own 944s. I have looked into the 944 shocks which brings me back to my original question.

Installed 940's on my 09 FLHX and had rear quick-mount on bike...shocks fit fine mounted w/adjustment cup upright (like normal install). Is there a reason why you think the 944's need to be mounted the other way (e.g. upside down) on your bike. Both ends of shock are pretty similar diameter...

From the instructions:
"These shocks can be mounted with the adjuster at the top or bottom. However, we recommend the shocks be mounted with the adjuster at the top for ease of spring adjustment."
All their illustrations show them the same way up. My concern would be of water getting trapped against the seals, but in any event installing them adjuster-up will solve all such queries. Why swim against the current?!
