Default Boom box locked after software download

Hello folks

Anyone got any solution to this problem.
I have tried to install the latest infotainment software, on my 2017 SGS.
it's the 1.21.2.1 version.
I downloaded it from the HD site and followed the correct procedure. I have downloaded the last version no problem so I know the procedure.
Having inserted the USB drive and Gone through all the bits and bobs the system asked if I wished to install the software, which I ticked yes. The software was downloaded and the system then told me to insert a USB device which I again did. The infotainment screen then showed "Software updating, please wait", which I did, and I waited, and I waited, and I waited. In all I waited nearly an hour and still it was saying the same thing. Eventually I had to make the decision to turn the accessory switch off, as by now it was quite late and could not contact my dealer for advice.
The infotainment box when the ignition is switched on only displayed the software updating screen. None of the other infotainment functions work and the unit will not switch off.
I have spoken to my dealer and am booked in at the end of the month. They don't seem to know what to do and are going to speak to technical.
Has anyone ever experienced this or does anyone have a solution.

pull fuse and do a hard reset. sounds like your new download is bad. i would try again.

I would add the following: Activate navigation and confirm there is no active navigation route. With Navigation loaded, then insert your flash drive.

Inserting the update immediately after the "accept" screen can create problems (it did for me).

Thanks guys, the only problem I have Jeff is that I have no response to any of the controls, it won't even turn off. If I remove the USB device it goes straight into asking for the device to be inserted to complete updates. Hardhead other than pulling the fuse do I need to do anything to the boom box itself.

Same issue here. Spoke to HD today. Calling them in morning. Pulling main 50 amp circuit breaker for 15 minutes did not resolve either.

I called HD back this morning (in Wisconsin) and told them pulling the fuse does not work. They are supposed to call me back some time.

Harley never called back....so I called them.....now some other person tells me that I should take the bike to the dealership. Jesus. That is what I am going to do.....no other choice.

1.21.2.1 is not the latest version. 1.21.3.1 is the latest.

so far I have had no problems with it.
