Stand your ground, myself I just can't make myself buy new. Too many garage queens for sale. I buy a lot of heavy equipment, etc. It may take me a year to make a purchase.
It's your money, no reason to give 2-3 weeks wages away

Agreed! That's why I made my purchase 50 miles away! I'm a happy girl!

Glad to hear you found and got Your own motorcycle. It's great to hear about women buying their own bike. My wife got her own bike (2013 Road King) in black and had it painted pearl white (her favorite color) before she picked it up. Congrats to you and enjoy. Ride safe and enjoy your new ride. Sometimes that's just the way it is. I live 4 miles from a Harley dealer. I buy my bikes and get them serviced at a dealer 40 miles away due to the prices and the difference in the quality of service.......

YMMV

My only concern with buying apart from local is when you need service or a recall what kind of response you get from local or closer dealer if you are unable to return to dealer such as fly and buy deals

Huh? meaning: How will you be treated by the local dealer for service or recall work when you didn't buy the bike from the local dealer?

From what I've experienced, they typically without saying put you in-line behind the bikes that were bought there. I had/have a Polaris dealer that asks up front if you bought it there, and then lets me know my vehicle will be put in line behind the vehicles that were bought there. From what I've most dealers operate this way, but most don't openly say this..

I have a similar dealership as the OP, they DO NOT negotiate, period.

I don't even give them a shot anymore as its a waste of my time. I often wonder how they stay in business, but there are many locals that just go in and buy without a second thought. - Those folks must have money to burn, or don't realize that they can save thousands by going elsewhere.

Congrats on the new bike, enjoy!

buy those and install yourself separately. Thats a pretty easy job. Good way to get acquainted w/ your bike too.

Unless they're giving a huge discount on them.

I've had 2 sets of tips on RHs peel, so won't buy them again, but others have had good luck.
