For some reason I thought this didn’t work. Is t the cu out for the shock at the wrong angle or something? Cause the shock to rub?

I've seen both re drilling the stock bracket or just bending it, either ways it's a pretty simple mod.

The hardware for the new lids you have to get and people say that thats the hard part I have been seeing. The bags are not the problem; but the lids are.

anything you can write a check for is not really a problem, it's an expense... LOL

I don't understand what you're talking about. New lids? New hardware? Are you saying you need to buy new lids and hardware for the newer bags to fit pre 2014 bikes?

Nothing has to be purchased other than the new bags. We managed to get the bag to fit without drilling or bending a wire. All we did was move the bracket on the bike over a little bit.

I just got a reply from "Hog Workz" a couple days ago in regards to my request for info...they're currently building molds to start making a "Drop-out" version of the '14 and newer bags (about 6" longer/lower than stock with a taper for clearance in the turns) and they promised that once they have them in production in approximately 2-3 months that I'll be able to order them already drilled to fit on my '06 FLHT.

*EDIT*
To my understanding, with the rear mounting hole lined up, the back of the bag sticks out slightly beyond the rear fender, but I saw one and it didn't look obscene, but the forward holes are off in the ballpark of 1/4 to 1/2" from the new bag to the old style mount.

Saw a Youtube video just the other day. Guy took front brackets off and elongated the hole with a dremel. Loosely remounted brackets, attached saddlebags then tightened bolt holding front brackets. Looked good to me.
