Just read this... All because no one follows the maintenance schedule an changes their brake fluid every two years. No need for me to take it in as I just did mine a year ago but if I can get a free flush when it's due again next year I'll take advantage of it.

Looks like a change of fluid is all you get. Not much of a recall.

I'll take a free flush front and rear, and when the HCU fails I'll take a free one of those too

I think it's about time I do all my own work and I have changed my fluid to the best of my ability but the dealer still tells me that they have to cycle the abs to get all the fluid out and for them to do it was a $200 bill so I'm glad they get to do it next time

I wonder why 2012 and 2013 aren't impacted.. different ABS system? I still got a notice from Harley on my 2013 that the fluid should be changed every 2 years..

I'd kinda like to think that once they do this to your bike, they own the control module. The moco is saying this recall is all you need for the unit to keep functioning properly,

So if it craps out afterwards the new unit is on them right?

I can dream...

This past summer I had a 35k done and I asked the dealer to flush the system and throw on a set of rear pads.

I just spoke to the dealer today and asked if I still needed to do anything about the recall. They stated that even though I just had the brakes flushed, they would be contacting me and scheduling me to come in for the recall because a different type of brake fluid will now be used.

So, I'll wait and once they are ready that old bitch will go back to the shop and they can do whatever they need to do to make it good to go...

I have a 2012 flhtk that just started exhibiting the hard brake. Called and confirmed that I am not covered. There is no difference that I have heard of between the years. I think that nhtsb just don't have enough complaints from these years.(they have mine now) I'll be out $200 for the flush. I only bought it last year, so I assume that the PO was lazy with maintenance.

Just looked up my vin and it says that I am covered. I bought this bike last year so I’ll don’t know when or if mine was flushed.
