So not being the guy that can afford buy anything....lol
I knew the air shocks are not the best....and I do know that ohlins are without a doubt the best.
I watched the for sale classifieds on here. I bought a nice used set of 944's.
I was not sure about the lowering 1 inch.
Well today was 78 and I went for the first test ride. I hit every bumpy country road , RR tracks. Very nice and smooth. I think I like the lowering also.
Now my wife was not on the back and the tour packs were not either...so we will see, but so far I like!
I have the front progressive cartridge system to install next.....which I bought used off this forum!
now if you take the time to set sag you might even be happier. I was fortunate to be in Myrtle Beach last year and was able to pull up to their trailer and two guys took bags off and set the sag for me no charge....while I was there the rep from Progressive replaced the bushings for me at no charge as well. He said that the bushings he put in were the upgrade. Since I ride pretty aggressive I tend to like my bike a little on the stiffer side.
I have the predecessor's of the 944's the 940's and they are good too.
Now if you really want to sweeten your ride more get you their Monotube's for the front end. You'll really enjoy that. No more nose diving. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Progressive...5YpJCY&vxp=mtr
I also put the 944 on 07'road king, was blown away how much of a difference over the stock air shocks. I've made thousands $$$$$$ of upgrades to my bike, the 944 are one of the best.
Upgrading the front makes a huge difference. It's hard to believe how much is transferred from front to back until you upgrade the front! It will make the rear suspension even better.
