The horn on my 06 Ultra was starting to be barely audible once in awhile. I brought it to the dealer & he gave me a new one under warranty. He said that he had changed out three that week alone. Since I changed it myself I noticed that the original stock horn was made by Hella. The replacement one was made by Rooter. I've heard of Hella but not Rooter. Anyway that was the fix. This new horn sounds louder & clearer than the old one ever did.

I had a 2005 ultra and had to have the horn replaced 3 times. The third time they told me to rev the motor to 1500 and if the horn worked it was fine. I called Harley customer service and complained. they told me to take the bike back to the dealer and have them call for authorization to replace. Seems they used a chinese or some cheap manufacturer for the horns. Forth time I got a Good one. Or they got a supply from someone who knew how to make the horn correctly. If its under warranty make them replace it and if it doesn't work again have them replace it again. If they give you a load of crap call Harley and complain. They will get it done.
