2009 EGC. Got cut off the other day, hit the horn and got nothing. When I stopped later, with the bike off, I can barely hear a "beep". So, it's not totally dead, just way more useless than normal.
Before I take it into the dealer and waste a day (or more) getting a warranty fix. Any suggestions?
Yeah. HD horns are POS devices. They always fail when you really need them. Get a MiniBeast horn, they work great, stylish, and are loud (and work). Stay away from any horn made by HD (even their air horn, another POS).
That is a great price on the FIAAM horn. I paid $16 for the same horn at the auto parts store. It is a great horn.
It bolts on right where the factory horn goes.
I had a ground wire behind the cowbell break. before the wire was completely busted, the horn sounded weak. When the wire finally broke completely, of course horn was dead. re soldered the wire and all is good.
