Default 93 tour glide.. I'm getting older..need lighter weight

Howdy..
first post here..
Thoughts this fourm be the place to ask.
My old 93 tour glide, .. great bike.
As we all do..I'm getting older, a few health issues..
Wonders if y'all could advise me on getting my
Bike lighter.
I've even thought of trying to make it into a super glide.
If that would even be possible.???
Thanks for any information.
I really don't want to buy another bike.
But ?? I know I need to do something.
Roy

Same as the super glide ? Correct me if that's wrong.
I've only 56k on my tour glide..
The old girl runs great.
Was just wondering..?

Unless you're able to do the work, converting it to a Superglide would be an expensive proposition. The closest you be able to get reasonably would be a Road King style bike other than that trade it for what you want. It doesn't have much value in the soft market with many used bikes for sale. I'm in the same boat with my '94.

Ya really are not gonna be able to lose much weight stripping it down. The bags and fairing just are not THAT heavy percentage wise. I would be very surprised if ya lost 50 lbs... if ya aren’t ready or willing to go trike (I never will) have ya seen them “landing gear” training wheels?? Otherwise there are lots of small light bike out there, even scooters are fun...

I've thought about a Heritage Softail instead of my RK as it is lighter and lower but still has shield and bags. It'll probably be my next bike.

Went through the same thing two years ago.
Bought a 2016 XL 1200C. Modified it into a mini bagger.
Tall boy handlebars
Digital speedo analog tach
Mustang seat
Harley touring hard bags
Floorboards by DK custom
Luggage rack and sissy bar
Road tech gps
Custom windshield

I love it. Wish I would have done it years ago

i would start by taking the tour pac off. you will loose about 30 pounds of high weight which will make a huge difference. clean out the saddle bags of anything that's unnecessary. i took the tour pac off my 85 and only put it on if it's absolutely necessary.

There is nothing similar or interchangeable with a Superglide and your bike. You can't make a bagger into one. I know you don't want to get another bike, but go sit on a new (2018) heritage softail. So much lighter and nimbler than what you're on now.

heritage softail, or sporty. My streetglide comes off the stand so much more easily than an EG with all that top heavy weight. Good luck.
