Arrow Road King Fairing - 2018 Opinions

Hello,
I've done much searching over the last year, but I'm struggling to find a recent set of opinions.
I have a 2010 King, vivid black, and I'm looking to add a fairing for longer trips, mostly for sound, but also for the colder weather in upstate NY.

My searching has brought me to the following
:
Woody's
Reckless
Wide Open

Or a conversion to batwing using oem parts.

What way would you go.

Pictures would help.

Do you want to be able to remove it?

I don't think it will come off much, but I really don't know. Going to get on a street glide and hopefully a road glide this week.

price is also a consideration..... a full conversion is about 2x a bolt on (if you use all the correct harnesses)

I've been considering the same thing, but have decided against the add on fairing or even a conversion. Looking at prices of fairing and then the expense to match my paint, I'd be better off selling my bike outright and going to buy a late model SG or RG and have everything done proper. Just like the OP, I probably wouldn't remove it often or at all. I'm not in the place in life where I want to sell my bike and take on the added expense so I'm keeping what I have and leaving well enough alone. With you having black paint, it would probably be quite a bit cheaper for you.

This is where I was going with it. By the time you spend 2-3K that you'll never get back in value, you could just get a bike that had one from the factory and be done with it.

A bit more info that may help.... my father is an automotive painter. So that's wouldn't cost me much.
Ive called dealers and trade in value is about $7,500. A comparable bike with fairing is going for 12K +, 16+ if it is a 2014 or newer. I think i'd keep all parts, and convert it back if needed before re-selling.

Understood on the cost factor. Just remember you've got to fill that fairing with audio, wiring, windshield, etc. It's all those little costs that add up and double the initial cost of the project and there's no return on the investment. Whereas, spending the same cash to upgrade the whole bike, would yield a ROI in the future. That's not to say "don't do it", if it's still the right move for you, just something to consider.

The fairing, hard mounted or removable, isn't going to change the trade value much. The title still says FLHR.

I have read a few articles about this, Most of what I have read, I would say 60/40 of the people said that once they put on the fairing, the never take it off. I like the wind in my face, so I would get one removable. but then again, I can do without music, music that I would have up so loud to hear it, it hurts my ears. I prefer earplugs to save what is left of my hearing. So, sounds like Reckless is preferred by quite a few members.
