I just went and picked up my battery from the shop. 11.9v after sitting just a few hours after charging. Safe to say it's toast. Just ordered the Batterymart Mega Crank for $89 shipped. If I buy one of those every 2 years or so I'll be happy. Hopefully she drops in and fires up.
You can only hope it fails at a convient time. Not way to work, after a beer, or anything where other than your house.

I hear ya, and I agree. It seems I can get life like that out of my truck batteries, and even my boat. It's 5yrs old and has never so much as bad a charger on it. It's been cranking a high compression outboard running bilge pumps and running lights and a winch almost every trip out. It just seems with my bikes, 3 years is tops, and that's even taking great care of them. I don't know if it's the vibration, the heat, or what. That's really the main reason I dont spend big bucks on bike batteries. Not only do I have 3 to maintain, they don't seem to last. No matter what kind of battery I use.

Dropped the new battery in this afternoon before I ever came in the door from work. The wife had it on the workbench waiting lol. Checked voltage while still in the box. 12.79. Put it in, wired it up and the bike busted off faster than it has since I've owned it. Voltage at 1500RPM is 14.25, and over 2000RPM is about 14.6. I haven't ran through the entire charging system but as of now it's looking like I just had a crap battery, voltage is reacting like it should with RPM changes.
Bikes EVERYWHERE today on the road while I'm stuck in my truck. That will not be the case tomorrow though. I have an end of season party for the Tee Ball team I coach this evening or else I'd go lay down a few miles. No worries though. I'm proud of all my kiddos on the team and looking forward to spending the evening with them and all the parents I've built friendships with.
