Default Road King Bars??

Ok all. I have been MIA for some time now. But I am back with the same bike and have some extra $$$ to throw at it again. I am looking for some better, more comfortable bars. Maybe some mini-apes or something. I am about 6' with long a$$ arms. What size would you all suggest? Also, what diameter do I need to run internal wiring? Thanks!

I'm against the norm I guess... I ran Heritage style on my 12 RKC but those are only 1" bars so no internal wiring.

I'm changing out my 9" mini apes on my 17 RKS for some Wild 1 515's (10"). These are 1 1/4" and can be internally wired. Just make sure to double check fitment for your year RK.

Lot's of options out there.

Best advice is to go to a dealer and get on their demo bike and have them put on several bars and try them. and of course the forums here, good luck

I am 6’ with long arms. I just purchased 14” wild one reapers for my 10 road king. Sat on a road glide with 14” reapers, felt amazing. Now just need to have them installed.

At what height do I need to get new wires or extensions?

I have HD fat mini apes (12", 1.25" diameter for internal wiring) on mine and like them, but would prob go 14" if I were doing again. Believe I saw another post claiming you could go 14" w/out extending wiring, but I'm not sure about that.

I am running 14" WO Chubby Apes on three Road Kings. You would need +8" on the cables and I would buy the wiring extensions long so you can stagger your connections in the bars.

Give a look at the khromewerks fat apes. 14”. I have the originals( the “bobber” have less pullback). I used a 10” longer clutch cable 10” wires and 6” on the brake lines. I opened up the holes at both ends and smoothed them out to facilitate easier wire feeding.

Try this. Sit on your bike as you normally would say sitting at a red light. Close your eyes and put your arms out to what would feel like a comfortable riding position. Open your eyes and visualize what the bars you would like would be. Wild 1's are a good company with many different styles and can be helpful on the phone. Been there. I am not saying that they are the way to go but they can be helpful. I like their Reapers. You say you have the coin so don't worry about the height or the factor of cables/wires needed. Do it right the first time or be like many others (myself included) and transition into what works for you, at a significantly higher cost. Best of luck!!!
