Default Best Fork Springs For ElectraGlide?

Would like to replace stock springs with something better. 2007 Ultra. Opinions from those that have upgraded their fork springs is greatly appreciated. Fork oil weight is a plus. Looking for a smoother ride with no rebound. Now on some bumps the front end rebounds to the top. Causing a bang.Thanks. OLD 96.

Cartridges are your best bet. Progressive, Ohlin... take your pick.
But if just a spring upgrade is all you (myself included) seek, Progressive drop in kits and a fork oil upgrade can offer significant improvements over the factory mush box setup.

I had Progressive Monotubes in my 2011 RGU. Liked them so much that I put a new set in my 2018. Far better than the stock suspension.

On my 07 I have Progressive Cartridges and I have Ohlins 2-#2b from Motorcycle metal...I have about 1000 miles on the set up and I am so satisfied. Bike rides like rails. Installed it all myself. I little less than $1000 in the set up and I don’t know why I waited so long.

Almost everyone, the first time they get their suspension correctly re-sprung and re-valved for their weight, has that same response. I remember the first time I did. It was like night and day.

FWIW: I had progressive mono tubes in my '10RK and switched them out for Axeo's . Mono's were too rough and Axeo's are awesome.

Default Fork Springs

I went with Race Tech springs, and their full front end kit in my 012 Ultra. Made a big improvement over stock. Big gain for a reasonable outlay of money. Made in the USA not China. If you have the funds for a cartridg type look at Traxion or call Howard for his advise on the Olins kit he offers.

Stock springs on the 07s suck but the valving ain't too bad. Depending on your weight, I would go with progressive std springs or 1.0 to 1.1 kg/mm straight wound springs. You can drill the center bleed hole out to 7/64" and use 5 wt oil. IMO this works as good as Racetech emulators and don't cost that much. Ohins are probably pretty nice but cost 8 times the springs / valving change.

Changing springs alone won't bring much benefit, as what your bike is missing is decent damping control. There are several upgrades available to rectify that, as already suggested above. Be prepared to spend a little, for a real and worthwhile improved ride quality.
