On Second Thought: Questionable Mods for the Touring
By Staff Writer

There are some modifications that add to the Harley-Davidson Touring, and some that don't. We five mods that H-D Enthusiasts were not thrilled about. But, of course, there may be more...

I have to admit that none of them floats my boat!

I agree with all of the comments regarding those mods, except I mostly ride with my shorty windshield just to feel the wind in my face on purpose . The stocker is much more comfortable for long distance touring, if you can decide between slouching to look through it or sitting tall to look over it.

The fairing mounted mirrors that come stock on my SGS work well and offer a good view of what’s behind and beside.

Default Push button door

I use an aftermarket pushbutton door. Never had a problem with it. I guess it makes a difference whether you purchase an HD or aftermarket. Before this, I reversed the stock locking tab so I didn’t need to use a key. It would occasionally bounce because it did not latch but I didn’t need the key anymore.

I like short windshield and fairing mounted mirrors. With apes, bar mirrors look funny, imho.

The "author" of that article must be one of the self righteous posters we see on here so often. "Don't like what I don't like!!11!!!"

Only one I maybe can agree with is the lid covers, but they have their place especially when hauling luggage on your seat that you don't want scratching your lids. The others are just the elitists telling us how superior they are.

....... wtf ?
...... not only do they steal my photo to use in their clickbait article, they don't even bother to ask my opinion of the product they bitch about
......... i've had HD bag lid bras on my machines since 2007 & have never had one 'fly off' whilst riding, or have any lid damage due to the bras.
.............. hey, curated content editor, i want a royalty on every click you get on this article
