If you end up going with an older model get at least a 2010. The 07, 08, and 09 fifth gear whine was a thing due to the straight cut gears.
Also, get the latest SE compensator...
At least go with the 15. All the latest accessories will at least fit it and are mores available and it will have the newer Boom system which has many capabilities the older bikes don't have such as Bluetooth and Nav depending on 4.3 or 6.5 system.

True -- that fifth gear whine is pretty strong, but how else will I know I'm in fifth gear?
It's like an audible gear indicator instead of a lighted gear indicator.
If I had the choice, I'd go for the newest RG too, if only for the updated saddlebag lids.
I would suggest the Rushmore 15+ models due to the fairing redesign.
My 13 Road Glide Ultra has a couple of broken screw mounts on the outer fairing.
The later fairing design is so much better than earlier models.
I just picked up a 16’, wasn’t in the market, but after a 30 minute test ride I was sold. Don’t know about old RG’s but I definitely recommend the 15-16 Rushmore with the 103”.
