Feel with Tour Pak Removed
For those of you with Ultras, did removing the tour pak make a dramatic difference in the feel and handling of the bike? Getting rid of the high center of gravity has to make a big difference I would think.
Tour pak weight with antennas and docking kit? I assume about ~60 lbs?

So I'll chime in since I've added a tourpack to my RK. The weight difference is substantial when compared to my bike the way it was before. I mostly feel it at slow speeds like moving the bike out of the garage and around parking lots. Nothing that I can't handle but you can tell when it's not there.
I think you will notice your bike being a little less top heavy, but because of the fairing I can't speak to how it will feel exactly. I just know on the naked king it was pretty remarkable at how much heavier it felt at first.

I just installed the removable tourpak brackets and dock. I would not call it a huge difference, but it is noticeable. I also added a LePera Aviator solo seat, which has a completely different feel than the stock "low" seat that came with the bike. Overall, between the two changes I really like the way the bike feels now versus stock (which was not bad to begin with).

I have a 16 RGU. Added the detachable system. There is a difference when I take the TP off. Love riding it with it off.
I would guess for someone that doesn't handle the weight real well, it would be even more of a difference.
If nothing else, it kinda changes things up and I feel like I'm riding a new/different bike.

When I removed the Tourpak and the lowers I noticed a significant difference at slow speed maneuvering. Having 50+ pounds removed from that 'out back-up high' location
makes this heavyweight feel much more nimble and stable. Removing the lowers increased the airflow around the engine for the summer but also increase the amount of turbulence coming up around the tank into my face and chest. They are back on now.
