Confused!
So while watching youtube videos of the Harley show showing 2019 models I saw several times a tricked out FLHR. It was painted Midnight Blue and white wall tires and laced wheels. I know it was a regular Road King and not a Special as it was all chromed out. Now while looking at the website, the FLHR doesn't come in Midnight Blue, although the Special does, and the catalog doesn't show white side wall tires or laced wheels available for the Road King. I thought the show was to show what was available, either stock or custom, but that bike doesn't seem to be possible. What give?

I know on the website and in the parts catalog they show bikes with accessory parts and even special paint sets. Some of the bikes in the P+A catalog have enough parts on them to double the price of the bike!
All you have to do to get that bike is:
1. Buy new 2019 Road King
2. Buy over priced paint set, chrome/black gee gaws, spoke wheels and white wall tires
3. Pay someone to install said parts if you're not mechanically inclined
4. Try to sell stock parts unsuccessfully on CL to recoup some of the money
5. Work a lot of over time to pay for a $34,000.00 Road King
6. Give parts away with the sale of "special" Road King in 4 years because you didn't have time to ride
THAT'S how you stay in business for 115 years
Harley is the only company with the ***** to sell you a bike twice.

They have a "stage kit" for that................LOL
I tell people all the time- " the second they settle for buying a stage kit they become a Harley Stooge."
The truth hurts and they get pissed, but it is the truth.

Harleys come with a Government wealth warning - or should do, so take care.
When I bought my '17 FLHR, laced wheels were NOT available in the US but there was a FLHRC available overseas that was sporting laced wheels and WWW. Thought about tracking a set down but just got a set of chrome wheels for it instead.
Thanks for the replies. I was figuring most of what y'all said. I had my heart set on a FLHRC for many years and finally get to the point where it's at least possible to see it in my future and then find out that HD doesn't make them for the US market anymore. OK, I can make peace with hard bags and put white side walls and laced wheels on a FLHR and be happy. What? HD doesn't have laced wheels for the FLHR any more? Not to mention I am not a huge fan of the paint this year. I like the blue I mentioned, but of course it's only available on the FLHRS. I like both of those reds on that two-tone paint scheme, but individually, not together. I know, theoretically, I can buy any bike and spend the money to make it what I want, but a 2nd mortgage isn't an option. Oh well, maybe 2020.

Here in the UK we get the RKC with soft bags, white-walls and wire wheels, in 'Billiard Blue'. The amusing thing is that the graphics of the bike on the H-D UK website have the tyres all over the place - they don't match up to the rims! We also get the Special in 'Midnight Blue', plus the standard RK, but no blue. Perhaps you should emigrate?!

I wanted a Street Glide special with solid color no pinstripes and I wanted no painted inner fairing.
I bought a standard Street Glide with abs. Then methodically added all the bits I wanted. I shopped the online HD sellers I waited for shop n pop and used accumulated HD bucks etc. I reasonably managed to get the street glide the exact way I wanted it.
